Kidney Health Australia's national Big Red Kidney Walk provides a special time for the kidney community to get together, enjoy an easy morning walk and a free barbeque with entertainment!
This year’s events were hosted during September in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Toowoomba – with some independent community events held in Bateman's Bay, Bathurst, Bega, Collinsville, Darwin, Lillydale and Queanbeyan.
Each walk featured varying distances to accommodate walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. Many families walked together, with a notable number of dogs and babies in prams. It was especially gratifying to have so many members of the health sector joining in with their colleagues and friends in each city.
Kidney Health Australia’s Big Red Kidney Walk will be held again in 2014. If you have a special connection with kidney health and want to help raise awareness of this important cause then this walk is for you!
