On Fathers Day the 1st September 2013, we took part  in "The Big Red Kidney Walk".

It’s a cause close to our hearts.

Each year more Australians die with kidney related disease than breast cancer, prostate cancer and even road deaths. Sadly, 1 in 3 Australians is at increased risk of kidney disease and an estimated 1.7 million Australians over the age of 25 already have at least one clinical sign of existing kidney disease. It's a very important health issue.

On a person level, As a result of High Blood Pressure, our Dad was left with only 4% Kidney Function and has been on Dialysis for the past 7 years and is currently on a Transplant list awaiting a new Kidney. His positive approach and attitude has enabled not only himself, but us as his family the ability to see the positives within the Negatives. As much as we wish that he was not on Dialysis,  we are extremely thankful that such a treatment exist. The positive spin on 7 years of Dialysis?.......we gained 7 years and counting of our Dads life that otherwise we would not have had. 

We are still raising funds post our walk, please get behind us and show your support by making a donation and help us to raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of those that live with Kidney Disease.

The little bits that we give together amount for so much as a whole, so please find it in your hearts to donate, whether it be big or small, every dollar counts. With your help and the efforts of others, collectively we hope to raise enough funds to make such initiatives like "The Big Red Kidney Bus" a reality and also support current initiatives like the "Kidney Kids Camps" These initiatives  help to provide abit of  freedom to those on Dialysis, especially the many Kidney Kids who are restricted and unable to venture away from the Hospital.   

To our Dear Dad, We Love You More Today Than Yesterday, but not as much was Tomorrow.
